Establishing the Men’s Outerwear business as design lead was an opportunity to define the design ethos and guest experience within a brand known for women’s yoga. The collection spans the activities of Run, Train, Hike, Office Travel and Commute. I rooted the collection in elevated feel, performance and fashion driven tailored aesthetic. I provide guidelines for a team of designers to create Outerwear distinctive from the outdoor industry through raw materials, trims, color as well as fit and features. Starting from scratch required the creation of a cohesive brand expression through logo, quilting, reflectivity, construction, fit and seam lines. My partnerships include tiering the product offering with merchandising, launching innovations with our future concepts team, building parallel offerings with women’s design team, and building into layering systems with the mainline design team. As the international markets grow, my work incorporates feedback from athletes, customers, quality partners and merchandisers across the globe to ever improve more inclusive design.
